I figured that I should have a note up on the side. I am not going on a real hiatus from the site. I refuse to. But school right now is to the point of where I am constantly jumping around from different major assignments and projects for every class, and it is hectic. Therefore, I do not have as much time as I would like for this site. I will try to post news as needed, but it just may not be as often due to school.
Things SHOULD calm down for a while around... December, maybe? =/

November 24, 2009 >> Sexiest Man Alive & other updates.
I would have posted this incredibly important piece of news last Wednesday, but school was brutally evil last week. :c (I am almost there! I just need to finish a research paper and I should be able to properly return to this site. I'm excited.)
Unless you've been under a rock for the past week, you know that Johnny has been crowned People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2009. Of course, why should this be a surprise? It is his rightful title, afterall... -cough- Ehem. x) Anyway. This is the SECOND time Johnny has been crowned Sexiest Man Alive by People. (The first time was in 2003.) This also makes him the first person to win Sexiest Man Alive TWO times in ONE decade.
The issue is of course on sale now in stores, so go buy your copy today! I already bought mine! :'D
And because of a lack of time, I will just give you article links to other important news again. u_u

This semester is slowly winding down for me, but I still have a lot of work to do for school. I wanted to take time out to update this site though. Well, sort of. October 6, 2009 >> POTC4 to be based off of a Tim Powers book
Reports are saying that Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be based off of the book On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers, which is also about pirates in search of the Fountain of Youth.
Last month, Johnny Depp walked on stage at the Anaheim Convention Center in his Jack Sparrow costume and delighted a surprised audience of Disney fans with his rummy buccaneer's trademark mutter. Within an hour, in San Bernadino, an award-winning fantasy author named Tim Powers found a flurry of emails from surprised friends and fans filling his inbox.
The reason for the e-mail barrage: Depp's theatrical appearance at Disney's D23 Expo included the announcement that the fourth Sparrow film will be entitled "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," which echoes the name of a 1987 fantasy novel by Powers about pirates and the Fountain of Youth. Everyone wanted to know if Powers had hit the Hollywood jackpot -- or if he needed to be in touch with his attorney.
Powers was in a tricky spot -- he wanted to publicly celebrate a career windfall but the folks at Disney had made it clear that he was supposed to keep everything under wraps. He was more surprised than anyone that the title had been trumpeted at Disney's new promotional convention.
"I was still -- as far as I understood -- not free to talk about it," the author told me Monday. "Then about a week ago my agent wrote and said, 'You're now able to say that in fact Disney did option the book.' That happened a while ago, it'll be three years in April."
The novelist, with a dozen books to his credit, is still a bit dazed by the fact that a book he published during the Reagan administration will setting sail in May 2011 as new edition of a Disney franchise that has racked up $1.78 billion in worldwide box office since hoisting its flag in 2003. "Yes, I'm thrilled," Power said, "I think it's great."
Famed Serbian director Emir Kusturica has decided to build a monument in honour of his friend, movie star Johnny Depp.
Daily Blic reports that a life-size statue of the actor will be unveiled, sporting the costume worn by his character in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The actor reportedly liked the idea, and Kusturica asked him for his exact body measurements.
"I laughed yesterday when I got the measurements of his body. If I was a tailor it would probably be normal for me, but I was really surprised when he sent me the dimensions of his head, forehead, shoulders, waist and other body parts. I can imagine how many women would like to know these dimensions,” the daily quoted Kusturica as saying.
The statue will be placed in Andrei Tarkovsky Square in Drvengrad - a faux traditional Serbian village Kusturica built for the filming of Life is a Miracle, which is now an uninhabited tourist attraction. The sculptor will be Serbian artist Dragan Nikolic Baja.
It's 13 years since Babybird almost topped the UK charts with You're Gorgeous, and now the band are trying again – this time with help from Johnny Depp. The Oscar-nominated actor appears on the Sheffield group's forthcoming album, and has directed their new music video.
Depp "makes a cameo appearance" on Ex-Maniac, Babybird's forthcoming sixth album. The Hollywood A-lister is reportedly a long-time fan of the band, and introduced frontman Stephen Jones to the new album's producers, Bruce Witkin and Ryan Dorn. Witkin played with Depp in their high-school band, Kids, and has since worked with Adam Ant and Depp's partner, Vanessa Paradis.
The actor was also spotted directing Babybird's two-day video shoot in late September. Dressed in a beanie hat, heavy jacket and white-rimmed glasses, Depp ordered Jones around the set at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire. The video also features British actor Stephen Graham, star of This Is England, several Arctic Monkeys videos, and Public Enemies alongside Depp.
Babybird have announced a short tour for November, with the new album to follow in February 2010. No word yet as to whether Depp will join the band on stage – or if he will help them carry amps from the tour van.

October 5, 2009 >> Johnny WILL be in POTC4.
Unless you have been living under a rock these past few weeks, you probably know that there have been several rumors that state that Johnny Depp was less enthusiastic to come back for a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie and that he would not return for a fifth or sixth film and that Disney was preparing to replace Johnny with someone else if they had to. (Ha! Isn't that laughable?)
Well, the rumors--thank God--are false! Here is the latest to clear up the rumors from Cinema Blend:
You may have seen our story from a few days ago that explains that, while Johnny Depp is still planning to participate in Pirates of the Caribbean
: On Stranger Tides, he'd be a lot less likely to sign on for any further sequels, and that Disney may consider replacing Jack Sparrow with some other new character.
To follow up on the story, I spoke to a Disney representative today who had checked with the higher-ups in the company, who assure that Depp has not wavered one bit in his commitment to Pirates 4, despite some cryptic statements he made when Disney exec Dick Cook left the studio last week.
As for any movies following Stranger Tides, the Disney rep can't speak about those-- probably not because they don't want to do them, but because nothing has yet been greenlit, and it would be silly to publicly speculate otherwise. Same goes for a new character, which our rep says they're not even thinking about yet--though, again, that doesn't mean that no one at the Disney office has had the thought "Hey, how does Zac Efron look in eyeliner?"
So, to wrap things up, Johnny Depp is still doing Pirates 4, just as our tipster suspected he would given that he's a man of his word. As for what happens after that, no one knows for certain-- not Depp, not Disney, not the guy who makes Captain Jack's hats, even our tipster said it was all just speculation and rumors. As soon as anything emerges as fact, we promise to let you know.

October 5, 2009 >> Johnny once gave Courtney Love CPR.
I am slowly getting caught up. Just bare with me! Things have been so busy lately! ;-; I am also thinking of making a new layout for the site, but I don't know when I will get around to that... Lol. Ideas on themes, anyone?
Courtney Love - who has a history of drink and drug abuse - has revealed Johnny Depp once saved her life by giving her CPR.
Johnny Depp once saved Courtney Love's life.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star had to give the Hole singer - who has a history of drink and drug abuse - the kiss of life when she collapsed after a heavy session.
She said: "Nobody has ever loaned me money. I mean, I was going to die on a few occasions. Johnny Depp gave me CPR on one. That's as close as I ever got. I was watching that movie where he plays Dillinger, and I was like 'Mother f***er, I never had myself any JD except CPR.' "
Courtney - widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain - also revealed strangers gave her money following her financial difficulties earlier this year.
She and her 17-year-old daughter Frances Bean are currently staying at a New York hotel while they waits for work to be completed on a nearby apartment, and she admits they've been treated like royalty.
She told Britain's Style magazine: They are the best staff in the world. When my bank account got frozen, we had $14.32 a week, so we lived off the kindness of strangers. The guy at the travel agency put his credit card down for the hotel. How insanely nice is that? And we are on the sixth floor. Not love nor money will buy you this floor."

October 1, 2009 >> Johnny is directing music video for Babybird.
Johnny Depp makes his directorial debut filming a music video on Tuesday (September 22) at Hatfield House in Herts, England.
The 46-year-old actor directed the music vid for the British indie band Babybird, which is fronted by Stephen Jones. Also featured in the vid is British actor Stephen Graham (This is England, Snatch!).
While filming, Johnny was seen slipping a noose around Stephen Jones’ neck as well as taking a few cigarette breaks.
MTV Movies Editor Joshua Horowitz caught up with Caine during the Toronto International Film Festival (where the "news" first got started last year) to pick his brain about the next "Batman" movie and joke about the scoop that rocked the 'Net.
"There is nobody, there's no script, there's nothing," Caine told MTV News of the status of the next "Batman" movie. "It can't possibly be made before 2011 because 'Inception' is such a big picture."
"[They] won't tell me anything because I said this before," laughed Caine of the no-tell policy surrounding him after last year's Depp/Hoffman story. Nevertheless, Caine offered this bit of "news"—before admitting that it could be wrong, and he'd be in trouble all over again.
"Johnny Depp is great in anything, but there is no Johnny Depp in this Batman," he smiled. "They tell me in no uncertain terms."

October 1, 2009 >> "Johnny's no dancer," says Terry.
Johnny Depp doesn't dance for any man, unless that man is director Terry Gilliam.
The off-beat heart-throb had to cut a rug in new film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
But the 36-year-old actor displayed his funky stuff under duress, it would appear.
Asked on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival who the best dancer was, Terry said: "I think Johnny has to do the dancing (in the film) and he hates dancing."
Terry continued: "He said, 'men don't dance', and yet we get him tangoing."
Asked if he was the only man who could get Johnny on to the dance floor, Terry smiled and winked before waltzing down the carpet and into the auditorium.
This makes me even more excited to see the film now. x)

September 19, 2009 >> Johnny says he is "shocked and very sad" about Dick Cook's departure.
Johnny Depp, star of Walt Disney Co.'s hugely successful "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, said he was "shocked and very sad" to hear about the abrupt departure of studio chief Dick Cook, whom he called "the sweetest man on the planet and such a gent."
Depp, who said his enthusiasm for a fourth "Pirates" movie has waned with the news of Cook's exit, said "it seems like the whole town is shocked," Depp said in a phone interview from London. He said Cook called him a few hours ago to break the news.
"He is the utmost gentleman, so he made the call himself. He said, 'I'd like you to hear it from me before you hear it from someone else or read it,'" Depp said. "He said today was my last day. He didn't give me a reason."
Depp added, "I didn't see this coming. There was no reason to see this coming."
The actor said it was because of Cook that he ended up working with Disney in the first place. Cook had been trying woo Depp for years with various projects including doing voice-overs for animated films and one day, in Cook's office, the studio chief threw out an idea that Depp pounced on.
"He said, 'We're thinking about doing this 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie,'" Depp recalled. "I said I was in. This was before there was a script or anything."
Depp said one of the reasons he committed to the movie was because he trusted Cook.
This is not good at all for the fourth Pirates movie, guys... :x

September 12, 2009 >> POTC4 NEWS!
And now for the most exciting news this weekend. (I saved the best for last, of course. Ha!)
Pirates of the Caribbean 4 now has its official title! It is to be called On Stranger Tides and it will release in the summer of 2011. The official title art can be seen below!
Johnny Depp appeared at Walt Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Depp arrived on stage in gliding replica of the Black Pearl pirate ship and, before they saw his famous face, the crowd was cheering at the sight of his silhouette behind a billowing back-lit sail and pumping stage smoke.
You can read more about the event by going to latimes.com.
Also, here is a video of Johnny at D23. I know you all are interested in seeing it! x) My life feels complete again after watching this video for the millionth time. ;D
ComingSoon.net recently revealed two new Alice in Wonderland posters made for D23 Expo.

September 12, 2009 >> Tim Burton explains his "abstract" relationship with Johnny.
In a surprise appearance at Comic-Con in July, during Tim Burton's presentation of his upcoming "Alice in Wonderland" adaptation, star Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance onstage. The crowd went from wildly intrigued to out-of-its-collective-mind turbulent.
That's how it usually goes when these two artists collaborate, as they have six times in the past and have again for "Alice" (and will yet one more time next year for "Dark Shadows"). Fans are fascinated by Burton and really fascinated by Depp, and almost anything they do together ratchets up the attention to feverish levels. So what actually happens when Johnny and Tim get in a room together to chat about making a movie?
"That's the thing — we don't really know," Burton laughed to MTV News. "It's very nice to have someone that you can have a completely abstract conversation with and leave the room, feel like everything's fine, and then realize that if you pick it apart, you have absolutely no idea what either of you said."
They first worked together on 1990's "Edward Scissorhands" and went on to collaborate for "Ed Wood" (1994), "Sleepy Hollow" (1999), "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (2005), "Corpse Bride" (2005) and "Sweeney Todd" (2009), for which Depp received a Best Actor Oscar nomination. "Alice" is set for release next March, and Burton earlier told us "Shadows," an adaptation of the supernatural 1960s soap opera, will shift into production next year. After making movies together for almost 20 years, Burton explained, the two men thrive on the very abstractness of their creative partnership.
"That's a sign of knowing somebody and connecting with somebody," he said. "I don't pretend to know [him]. If I don't know who I am — this sounds like a bad therapy session — but I don't pretend to know anybody else. That's what keeps it all cool."
You can view a video of the clip with Tim talking about Johnny below:

September 12, 2009 >> I have missed this site so much.
I have missed updating this site so, so much. Like, you have no idea. School is literally taking up what feels like 99.9999% of my free time and so I feel terribly behind on my obsessions/hobbies and not to mention I have practically lost contact with friends because I rarely get on instant messenger anymore. A lot of research and studying is required for my classes this term, and next term will not be any better. But I decided to take a break from all of that today to hopefully get this site caught up. And wow, a lot has happened!
I have decided to do whatever I can to keep this site updated every day. It annoys me that I am always behind now, especially with Johnny Depp who my life is centered around. xD
